I’m loving this right now, really helping with my somber mood.
Bonnie Raitt & Norah Jones- Tennessee Waltz.
Bonnie Raitt slaying “I Can’t Make You Love Me” live. Brilliant, and proof that like a fine wine, Ms. Raitt’s vocals get better with age.

…is giving me life!
What am I doing on a beautiful Sunday afternoon? Well I bought some pink bubbly (to match my shirt, kidding, not really) that I’m drinking, while blasting this fucking awesome playlist. Jealous much? You should be.
PS If anyone doesn’t have and wants any of those songs, message me. :-)
Bonnie Raitt, on Ellen! TGIF, indeed.
Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” is the most appropriate Valentine’s Day song…for me. Cheers!
Best Americana Album: Slipstream, Bonnie Raitt:

Best Alternative Music Album: Making Mirrors, Gotye:

This video is the reason why I love Bonnie “badass” Raitt. Girl has funk, soul, and sass. Plus, she makes Obama and Tina Fey groove.
Oh, no big deal, just Ms. Raitt leaning back on a rooftop looking like the bad ass she is. This should give’m something to talk about. (I know, lame joke but I couldn’t resist.)
My favorite albums of 2012 so far.
Predrinking for Bonnie Raitt’s concert! Also, it’s begin to look a lot like Halloweeeeen!
I’m seeing Bonnie Raitt in concert tonight at the Greek. But here’s my review of her latest album, Slipstream:
Bonnie Raitt was a college drop out who pursued a music career and eventually became a legendary multi-genre singer and guitarist. How badass is that? Anyway, Slipstream, her first album in seven years, is a blend of country, soul, funk, and rock. Not since 1982’s Green Light has Raitt composed an album that mixed folk, blues, rock, and pop all in one fine package.
Opening the cut is the funk meets jazz “Used To Rule The World” where Raitt is given plenty of opportunity to show off her guitar skills, in case anyone thought she’d be rusty. Next, is the album’s single and a reggae-esque cover of Gerry Rafferty “Right Down the Line,” where Raitt’s raspy vocals are as clear and sexy as ever.
Another stand out track is “You Can’t Fail Me Now,” which echoes her 90’s hit “I Can’t Make You Love Me” in somber tone and vulnerable love narrative. Speeding up the groove with her signature slide guitar magic is “Down To You” co-written by Raitt. Two country, bluesy numbers “Not Cause I Wanted To” and “Marriage Made in Hollywood” further demonstrate the confidence, strength, and versatility in Raitt’s voice.
Lastly, rounding out the album are two Bob Dylan covers (“Million Miles” and “Standing in the Doorway”), a few by Randall Bramblett, and Joe Henry (who co-produced the album with Raitt).
While Slipstream may not be her most consistent work, it is one of her greatest; further proving that like a fine wine, Bonnie Raitt gets better with age.
Oh, no big deal. Just the most bad ass women of all time!
She sounds amazing, raspy, down right sexy live.
